Live Peace

Introduction:

To keep my health, to do wmy work, to love, to live, to see to it that I gain and grow and give and give. never to look behind me for an hour. never to wait in weakness nor to brag in power, always working, searching for more truth more light, always writing, teaching what i found good and right! Robbed, starved, beaten, fallen wide astray, back with the full truth I've learned, Back to the way!

This page is the rough draft of a presentation I plan to give to my UU congregation, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington. Please read it and think about it, but remember that as long as this paragraph remains as a heading, it is incomplete and possibly inacurate. Also, when I find out when I'll be participating in a service, I'll post an invitaion here.

Lately I've been observing that many people in this area, and thus probably the rest of this country or even the rest of the world, do not know many things that would help them get along easier in life. Be it education, politics, art, sociology, social skills, domestic skills, spritiual development, traffic skills or parenting skills, people's resources for learning these things often become limited. It might be for fear of asking someone and seeming weak, it might be because they have rejected religions that might help foster certain beliefs or ideas, it might be because they have never been exposed to some of these topics or ideas.

One night when I simply could not sleep, I had an epiphany. I can help people! I have many experiences that I have learned from and that I would be proud to share with other people, and I enjoy writing. I also have similarly wise friends and acquaintances that almost certainly might have something they could share with humanity. So, I hereby invite you to help me help the world. If you enjoy writing essays, short stories, poems or songs songs, painting, sketching, sculpting, taking pictures, or something else I haven't thought of, I would love to review and hopefully publish your contributions alongside my own.

Hopefully some of you already have an idea of something you might like to contribute. Please, take a moment to jot it down on the back of the green sheet in your order of service so that your ideas are not displaced by the stream of ideas to follow. And DO NOT read the front first. When most people are looking up again I'll continue, but throughout the rest of the service and the rest of the next 3 months, I invite you to take notes on things you might like to write about.

The reason I asked you all to put your ideas down first was because if I got you thinking within certain lines, you might focus too much on my ideas and be less likely to think of something entirely original. While we all may have certain things in common that bind us together, we also each have a unique soul that enriches our community with diversity, and in no way do I want to risk lessening that. Now that your individuality is protected, you may all procede to The List

If any of you were raised in a manner that suppressed your spiritual ideas, think back to the first time you ever really let yourself think freely about your beliefs.

To Be Continued! This site is under construction, and these ideas are still being mapped out.
